Rochy Glitter Boots at Ninos Y Ninas

All that Glitters

As August rolls around I can’t help but feel like this year has absolutely flown in. Felt like just days ago we were getting excited for the Spring/Summer collections and now the sales are on (find ours here) and it’s time to see what Autumn/Winter has for us. This month read about our Rochy glitter boots, my summer adventures with my fearless toddler and the latest announcements and arrivals in the celebrity world.

All That Glitters

A/W 18 is upon us, deliveries are coming thick and fast, treasure chests full of beautiful outfits ready to be debuted once the summer is over. It’s easy to overlook footwear when we’re in the thick of winter dresses and cosy coats but we all know there are some boots that will never be overlooked. Ladies, our Rochy Glitter Boots are back!

Beautiful soft suede boots with the twinkle of luxury glitter detail, the velvet ribbon to lace up completes the look of these must have boots.

We all loved them last year, they sparkle like Meghan Markle’s ring finger and completed every outfit from a casual set to a party frock. My favourite dress to team them with so far definitely has to be this Rochy Gucci Collection Girls dress

They come in 5 standout colours, grey, red, navy, pink and camel. My little S needs a pair in every colour this year I think. The glitter on the boots never comes off on anything, any time I purchase anything that sparkles I expect S to leave a trail behind her like Tinkerbell’s fairy dust - but not with these. The quality is outstanding but from Rochy, we expect nothing less.  Available in sizes 20-32, I find them true to size which makes shopping for them easy because I don’t need to drag my little angel with me to buy them!  You can buy yours in store or online, but remember, they sell out fast!

Summer Adventures

It’s been a busy summer keeping S occupied, she’s still in nursery during the holidays but we like to fit in as much as we can around that. S and her little best friend H visited Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, they absolutely love it there. There is so much to see, they always enjoy climbing on the ‘dinosaur egg’ and inspecting the bee hive both in person and on the screen which the kids can control the zoom on. On a Friday morning at 11:30am they also run a Toddler Time group which is great especially if your little one is 5 and under, it takes place in a different area of the gallery every week and the songs, rhymes and stories take inspiration from the artwork and animals on display.

At 1pm there is an organ recital which always draws a crowd, the kids generally use this as an opportunity for a dance around, then we head off exploring, every week we find something new and we find the whole place really child friendly. The café has high chairs and great little lunch boxes, the baby change facilities are large and accessible for all sizes of prams. S is recently toilet trained but any mother will know the pain of sharing a tiny cubicle with an infant while you’re both trying to use the loo and just as your bum hits the seat they open the door while shouting to the whole of the M&S ladies loo ‘Mammy! I can see your daisy!’ or is that just my experience? Anyway, in Kelvingrove baby change the distance from toilet to door is far enough that you can pee in safety!

We also ventured to Mugdock Country Park. It took me 2 hours to get there but that is another story...  Top tip, make sure your sat nav is set to take you to the visitor centre car park or you could end up in the middle of a golf course having drove over a ford then reversing back over said ford, have a child pee in their car seat because they’ve been telling you for an hour they need to pee and eventually having a meltdown before finally getting some solid directions!

When we finally got there we headed straight for the Stables Tearoom, a fabulous little place set in the beautiful courtyard, we stocked up on ice creams and cool drinks before venturing to the play park which is small but great fun, S ran herself ragged and managed to get some older kids to help her up a slide she was far too small to be on, she thudded down it like Nelly the Elephant and came flying out the bottom like a little bundle of instant regret, but she still wanted to try it again! After the swings and a more size appropriate slide she eventually retired to her pram for the big walk to find Mugdock Castle. The path is really lumpy and bumpy, we have a City Mini which coped really well (unlike my legs!) and when we got to the castle the view over the reservoir was beautiful. It’s the ideal place for a picnic in peace.  We made our way round the rest of the park, taking a few short cuts thanks to H’s dad taking the prams up nearly vertical off road paths. It’s absolutely the place for an adventure, perhaps suited to older children in parts but we loved it and if you check out their website www.mugdock-country-park.org.uk  they have various events on throughout the year too!

Next month we’re headed to M&D’s, Calderglen Country Park and Zoo and Happy Town in Cumbernauld. Read about it next month and if there’s somewhere in or around Glasgow that you think we would love, leave us a comment!

 Celebrity Babies

A new baby Buble has arrived! Vida Amber Betty arrived on Wednesday 25th July joining big brother Noah and Elias. We got a glimpse of a very gorgeous little hand via Luisana’s Instagram page, hopefully it won’t be too long before we see her lovely little face.

In June the Royal family got another new addition, Prince Louis was the baby of the family for just a brief time before he was made big cousin to Lena ( pronounced Lay-na) Elizabeth Tindall, second child for Zara and Mike and little sister for Mia.  I wonder how long we will be waiting for another Royal Baby announcement? The excitement is already building here!

Team GB’s Tom Daley and his husband Dustin Lance Black welcomed their first child together, a son named Robert Ray Black named after Tom’s late dad Robert. Christine Lampard has been out and about with her bump in full bloom, not long now until she and husband Frank welcome their first child together, a third for Frank who has two daughters from a previous relationship.

Well that concludes this month, it’s been short and sweet but I’ll be back soon with more on the Autumn/Winter collections, my Toddler Tales and the latest in all things bumps and babies.

Until next time,

Nx
